If you’ve decided to go for an industrial theme in your dining room that doesn’t meant you can’t introduce brighter hues to the mix. In fact, with any dining space the quickest way to change the vibe of the scheme is to swap out the dining chairs to put a new perspective on the space. Imagine this dining area with a series of mix and match industrial factory stools and school chairs. Yes, that would look great but it would also be a one-dimensional scheme. By introducing a series of multi-coloured dining chairs to the otherwise industrial scheme creates an element of surprise, something which is heightened by the fact all the chairs are of the same glossy, finish. This is a clever design choice because the smooth spray-painted coloured metal is a refreshing contrast to the weathered textures elsewhere in the space. Do you ever switch up the chairs around your dining table to give the space a new feel?

I love this look. I think mixing up colours and styles is a great way of creating a really distinctive look. I love to do this with crockery…I take plates that have one colour in common but very different patterns and mix them up. It really adds a touch of fun to the dinner table.

Switching chairs is a design trick I use often, and recommend highly!
I’ve been playing around with the idea of adding a neon yellow board to the white shelves in my bathroom. This is a recent obsession and I have a feeling the bright color inspiration on your blog has something to do with it 🙂
Love this! I recently shot a home that had some pretty crazy colour combos going on, but the homeowners really knew how to mix them together like the pic above.
