When I’m trying to relax, one of the things I love to do is bake. I think it’s the process of getting everything prepared and following the methodical steps that helps my mind to switch off and in turn makes me feel more relaxed. For me, it’s a centering feeling when I’m following the instructions, have all the ingredients neatly laid out and the oven is set to the exact temperature. There’s also the sense of achievement, the feeling of having created something from scratch, which in turn brings about a sense of achievement and calm. Plus, you get to eat something delicious afterwards which is a definite win, right?!

With that in mind, I’m sharing my favorite soft and gooey chocolate chip cookie recipe, so if you need something delicious to bake this holiday season, check it out.

Often life takes over and I don’t always have time to bake or other things I like to do to relax. Life gets busy and we end up letting the things we do to re-center ourselves slip. That’s why I was intrigued to try Martha Stewart’s new line of CBD products. I’ve been a fan of Martha for years — remember when I stood in line at Columbus Circle to meet her and have her sign me a copy of her latest cookbook?!

Martha Stewart CBD products

I’m pleased to write that I think Martha Stewart has created one of the most delicious line of CBD products out there. Martha set out to make them like traditional French sweets and I can attest to them tasting just as delicious! Not only do they taste great but they are also made using the purest, safest CBD isolate. To me, it is the combination of taste and quality which I think is hard to match and give me confidence in them. The products range from sweets to drops. My personal favorite are the Citrus and Berry Medley Gummies as they taste so good! The products are made by Canopy which is one of the leaders in the industry and committed to safety and clinical research in CBD. Knowing that was super important for me and helps me relax even more. Alright, let’s talk cookies again! From years of trying different cookie recipes, tweaking them and combining them, I finally came up with my perfect recipe. These are my go-to when I need a sweet treat, maybe it has been a hard day or perhaps I’m in a celebratory mood, this batch of cookies never fails me. It’s super quick and easy, so give them a try!

Ingredients

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 cup of soft light brown sugar

½ teaspoon of salt

A stick of butter melted (1/2 cup)

1 large egg

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 ¼ cups of white all purpose flour

½ teaspoon of baking powder

10 oz of milk chocolate chips (best quality you can buy)

  1. First mix the sugars, salt and butter in a medium bowl until the smooth.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract until combined fully
  3. Now combine the flour and baking powder with a spatula, go gently and do not over mix, just until the flour isn’t showing anymore.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips
  5. Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 45 minutes
  6. Using an ice cream scoop, scoop the dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 11 minutes at 350F. As soon as you see an edge go brown it is time to take them out!
  7. Cool on a wire rack and enjoy.
