seeker projectI love Winter but by the end of January I’m itching to leave the arctic winds of New York City for more exotic shores. January can be a slow, dark month so it’s a great time to plan a vacation. Having a trip to look forward always keeps me going and inspired during the short winter days! My heartmate and I love the planning and research part of a vacation – seeking out the best hotels, the right flights; curating our own little itinerary.

That said, I know that some people can’t even get to these planning stages because they simply can’t decide where to go. One thing people often message me to ask is where I would recommend they go on a trip. To be honest, it’s really tough to say as it’s kinda like telling someone what their favorite food should be. We all have different tastes, so what I like or need from a vacation at the moment maybe not be the same for you.

I think the internet and social media is great for travel inspiration and opening our eyes to unexplored corners of the world that we may previously not considered. On the flip side though, it also means that choice seems endless and at times overwhelming. My friends at Le Club AccorHotels reached out to me and asked me try out their new Seeker tool. It basically helps you find your travel desires and preferences. When I say tool, you might think this is multiple choice wordy test, but I recently jumped in and completed it and can safely say there are no long or wordy statements required – it’s actually super cool. Hurrah!seeker projectThe Seeker test is biometric and uses behavioural analysis to figure out your responses to amazing pictures that are designed to stimulate natural and quick responses from you. Don’t worry, no fancy equipment is needed – Seeker uses the webcam on your laptop to measure your heart rate, for example. The test uses methods based on the Harvard Bias Test which encourages responses based on impulses. At the end you get recommendations on destinations you should visit across the world.

What are you waiting for? Take a break from work for a few minutes and take the test now to figure out what your suggested destinations are. I took the test and ended up visiting one of the suggested destinations, which was awesome. I’ll share that experience right here tomorrow!
