aquatalia-mens-shoes-1Shoes. They make or break an outfit. In fact, there’s a saying amongst New Yorkers that goes: “New Yorkers, tolerant of your views; judgmental of your shoes!” And, well, it’s not always easy to pair shoes with your look especially if the weather isn’t playing ball. Which, let’s face, on the East Coast during the Autumn and Winter seasons is often the case! So for today’s Aquatalia to shine the spotlight on their super stylish and weatherproof shoes. aquatalia-mens-shoes-2Over the years my sartorial style has become more refined and classic in its overall aesthetic. Think: an array of indigo and navy shades set against a palette of neutrals and army green tones. It’s because of this that I like to find shoes that wildly ‘out there’ or trend forward, but rather are stylish staples that I know will have the flexibility to be worn across a series of outfit combinations from my closet.aquatalia-mens-shoes-3For this look I chose the Benjamin low-top sneakers to round out the look. The dark green pony hair adds a subtle contrast to the sand and blues seen in other pieces of the outfit. The leather padded sock lining makes them super comfortable, too!aquatalia-mens-shoes-4This pair of shoes are reflective of how I like to translate my love of color into my sartorial choices: I love that I can add hue into my look in a subtle and sophisticated way. Not only that, but they add a touch of texture to the look as well.aquatalia-mens-shoes-5While the color and comfort of the Benjamin are both excellent, the real selling point for me is their durability and weatherproofing. Sure, there are plenty of practical shoes on the market but it’s rare to find a pair of weatherproof sneakers that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are practical, right?! Aquatalia’s shoes have a patented technique that sees their leathers and suedes simmered in a state-of-the-art sealant during the tanning process that helps repel water and resistance to salt and stains. They even fill ditched seams with a liquid sealant to stop water penetration. I can’t tell you how happy this makes me because although it doesn’t rain as frequently in NYC as it did in London, when it does rain, it RAINS! My mother would be so proud; it’s seems like just yesterday she was still telling me to wear a coat out when it was cold. Hello, thirty! Do you like how I styled these shoes? How would you wear them?aquatalia-mens-shoes-6 // Creative direction, styling and photography by Will Taylor | Posted in partnership with Aquatalia; all views my own

  1. I LOVE these shoes, Will! You’ve styled them perfectly here. And the fact that they’re weatherproof? Incredible; I know my boyfriend would be all kinds of excited to get his hands on a pair of these.

    • @Gabriella – Yay! So happy you and your boyfriend like the shoes too. Definitely my new fav pair as I head into fall, especially as I can wear them when it’s raining and not stress. Amazing! 🙂 Have a lovely weekend!

Love how you styled those shoes with your outfit! I’d also love my budget having enough play money to buy myself a pair of those! LOL! Another great work! Congrats Will and thank you for all the smiles you provide!

    • @Ethan – Haha! Definitely worth investing in quality, especially for shoes you can wear in the rain like these! 🙂 Thanks for your lovely comment and have a brilliant weekend!

You always look so sophisticated Will…love your work.

  4. Can’t believe these are waterproof, that’s amazing! I have the hardest time deciding what footwear to wear when it’s raining, especially this time of year when it’s still too warm to wear my rain booties. And even in fall and winter, if my rain boots don’t go with what I’m wearing, I literally have no idea what to put on. I used to just wear an old junky pair of flats, which just isn’t a good look, and once I just wore my Converse which are decidedly NOT waterproof! I think it took them like, a week to dry out. I hope more companies take a cue from Aquatalia!

    • @Jackie – I know, it’s soooooo good. Like, literally wardrobe transforming levels of incredible! So many people have commented on my social about wearing Converse in the rain only to discover how not waterproof they are. Consider it noted! 😉 Have a lovely weekend!

  5. These look great, very stylish as always and love the splash pic! Have a fab weekend x
