how-to-wear-ember-autumn-menswear-outfit-ideas-1When it comes to fashion, the most common question I get emailed about is how someone can incorporate X, Y or Z color into their outfits. Much like when it comes to decorating their apartment, there’s a concern about how to invite color into look without getting it, well, wrong. This is the reason I started writing Bright.Bazaar: to encourage people to understand the colors they loved and then how to invite those hues into their lives, from what they wear to how they decorate. So, for my latest Bright.Style post I’m shining the light on the perfect autumnal color, Ember. Click through after the jump to see two different ways you can wear this vibrant shade for fall.

After all, as autumn comes and the days gets darker, colder and wetter there’s no doubt that a solid coat is essential.how-to-wear-ember-autumn-menswear-outfit-ideas-3While this ember hooded parker is the statement piece of the outfit, I was keen to show how you can still layer in interesting and intriguing pieces to an outfit based around something very bright and commanding.how-to-wear-ember-autumn-menswear-outfit-ideas-4In this look, it’s the wool navy geometric sweater that adds depth and texture to the overall look. I wore it over a grey oxford shirt to keep things calm and classic. As the ember is so striking, it helps to add subtle details to additional pieces in the look, while also keeping to a neutral, simple palette so that the look is sophisticated and smart.how-to-wear-ember-autumn-menswear-outfit-ideas-5On those transitional days when the weather can’t make its mind up, having a cool sweater on underneath means you can still look stylish when you delayer.how-to-wear-ember-autumn-menswear-outfit-ideas-6Complete the look with cuffed slim selvedge denim to loosen the overall look.how-to-wear-ember-autumn-menswear-outfit-ideas-7If you still aren’t ready to transition from lighter layers to a more substantial coat, then this look is for you. For this second look, I wore a lightweight and super soft cashmere ember crew neck sweater under a wool knitted navy bomber. I have to say that this bomber is one of my favorite wardrobe additions for sometime: it’s lightweight yet still warm and makes for the perfect layering piece to have in my closet. Consider me obsessed!how-to-wear-ember-autumn-menswear-outfit-ideas-8This look is also a good way to wear ember is you like to add color to your look in a quieter manner.
