4. A return trip to the Saatchi Gallery proved to be inspiring thanks to this work by Alexander Kosolapov. It was interesting to see the variations in a pop art take on advertising and consumerism that engulfed America and the UK in the 1950s, to that of Russian artists whose lives had been formed in communist regimes. 8. An afternoon at the Saatchi Gallery introduced me to the work of artist Gary Hume – his ‘Four Doors I’ painting was one of my favourites. Further reading led me to learn about his love of colour in paintings, so it’s no surprise I felt drawn to his work.10-things-9

10. I love those perfectly timed moments when you step out of the Tube and the sun is setting directly down the street in front of you. Golden hour perfection.
