Winter Style All Wrapped Up

mackage leather jacketStaying stylish in the cold weather can sometimes feel like an uphill battle, right?! Yesterday I shared a stylish look for when it’s snowing and today I’m blogging this cold (and dry!) winter weather day look that features the super cozy Mackage leather jacket I blogged about back in the fall. One thing I love about dressing during the winter months is accessories. It’s so freakin’ hot in NYC during the summer that I want to wear as little as possible. Sometimes it’s even too hot for a watch, TBH! So, come the colder seasons, I like to dress up my looks with cold weather accessories that not only keep me warm but look great too. See my winter look in full after the jump!

mackage leather jacketI can’t get enough of my green pants from Club Monaco (psst! these are on sale with an additional 40%R off the sale price right now – run!) as they have the perfect super slim fit. The subtle color pairs really well with the staple black and sand colored pieces in my closet, too. Not to mention that the green hue is also perfectly seasonal.mackage leather jacketI like to make a statement with accessories, not in a loud and shouty way, but instead by wearing one stylish piece that effortlessly ties the whole look together. In this outfit, it was my plaid cashmere scarf from J.Crew (this is also on sale at 40% off now with the code HOLIDAY!), which gave an instantly festive feel thanks to the plaid.mackage leather jacketI love that ever since I got my Mackage leather bomber jacket that I don’t always have to wear a huge and heavy winter coat when the temperatures plummet. This jacket keeps me feeling warm and toasty without the restrictive weight of a larger coat. The black and navy provide a nice backdrop to the plaid scarf, too.mackage leather jacketI rounded the look out with one of my Skagen watches with a navy face and leather strap. I liked how the navy face of the watch is a gentle nod to the color of the scarf and jacket. What’s catching your eye from this winter look? How do you like to accessorize your outfits in the winter months?mackage leather jacket// Photography by Will Taylor

I wish I could fit into super slim pants. This outfit is great subtle colors but a bold look.

Awesome! Love your blog and Instagram! I notice that you credit yourself or the photography – Random question: I’m curious how you photograph yourself, up for sharing your process?

Scott – Hey! Thanks for the kind words about my work! Sure thing, I actually shared a look at how I do this on my IG story a few days ago! When I shoot my own fashion content I set my camera up on a tripod and depending on the body I am using I either set a 10 second timer or with my newer model I can take the picture by pressing a button on my phone, which works really well for close up shots when my hands aren’t in the shot! πŸ™‚
