central-park-nyc-summer-golden-hour-photography-1In some ways it feels like just yesterday that I blogged my 34 NYC & Central Park Snow Pictures of the 2016 Blizzard, and in other ways it feels like a lifetime ago. One of my favorite things about living in Manhattan this past year has been the weather. No, seriously! Having grown up in the UK it’s transformative to live in city where the sun shines almost everyday. Even when it’s cold, the sky is often blue and the sun shining. If it rains in the morning, you can bet that the sun will be back out for golden hour. I love it! Recently, I was walking through Central Park at magic hour and thought about how different it looked to when I had done my last photo tour through the park’s twist and turns in last winter’s historic blizzard. I’ve been sharing my golden hour snaps from around the world on Instagram for several years, but today I’m sharing a photo story of a magic golden hour in Central Park, NYC. Click through after the jump to see all the beautiful and surprisingly quiet, touching moments from my walk.

  1. Golden hour is one of my favorite times to shoot as well. The light just casts the loveliest glow. That said, your captures of Central Park at golden hour are absolutely magnificent Will!

    Will,

Thank you so much for your photos and blog posts. A lovely stroll through the park is so beneficial for the mind, body, and spirit! A favourite spot of mine is Point Pelee National Park. It has perfect viewing spots to see the sun as it sets over Lake Erie. It is a great place to breathe.

    Best,
    Colin

  3. I love the pictures! I am trying to find the best time to have a photoshoot at Central Park in June, early in the morning. Exactly, around what time in the morning is the golden hour?
