After an insanely busy year travelling through countless countries (click here to browse my colourful inspirations from overseas) to create the Bright.Bazaar book, 2013 is now drawing to a close. I’m back home at my mum’s for the Christmas holiday before heading over to Paris to celebrate NYE with friends. Yesterday I helped my mum add a few final festive flourishes to the house. Remember the post I did on how I styled her country kitchen dresser? Well, we searched out some pieces she liked to give the display a Christmas twist; it’s amazing what a simple scattering of mistletoe, red berries and tea lights can do to bring about that all important festive feeling, don’t you think? Before I leave to start our prep for the Big Day (my fiancΓ© and I are cooking the Christmas dinner for 10 people – yikes!), I wanted to send my heartfelt thanks for all your support, encouraging words and inspiring blog posts over the past twelve months – consider this a big, bright hug from Mr. Bazaar! I’m looking forward to more colourful adventures with you in 2014, and in the meantime I’ll be posting updates from my festive break on Bright.Bazaar’s Instagram feed.

Perfect touches! I wish I could find fresh mistletoe around here. Alas, the Phoenix desert doesn’t support such things. Seeing these lovely photos gives me more holiday joy than trying to make due with the plastic junk the stores try to pass off as mistletoe around here! Thank you for sharing.
@Nikki – Lovely to hear from you all the way over in the Phoenix desert – how fun! Happy Holidays to you and yours!
