Hey, friends! I hope you’re all keeping well? I just landed back from a week of exciting business meetings in New York City and I’m so excited to share with you the projects I have planned for Bright.Bazaar! As well as a lot of hard work I also squeezed in a few play dates with pals old and new, but next time I need to add some more free days onto my trip as there were so many blogging pals I didn’t get to see this time around. I totally lucked out on the weather as it felt like high summer for most of my trip – 27 degrees and bright sunshine. Thanks for pulling that one outta the bag, Al Roker. I’ll blog a full update and snaps from the trip soon but I wanted to quickly drop in to share these Instagram captures of NYC’S Golden Hour because it left me so inspired. On a clear days in the city, just before sunset, there’s a time when the buildings appear to shimmer in gold as the evening rays flirt with the city’s abundance of glass and metal facades – it’s pure magic! I nearly died in the middle of a crossroad getting that ray of light photo, but it was totally worth it because it captures the feeling I felt at the time: one of contentment and joy at being able to have spent a week working in a city that I love. I’m headed off again in a few days on more colourful adventures so I need to go unpack, put around 100 loads of washing on and generally sort my life out. I think I’ll take myself back to these inspiring moments in New York City to ride me through the inevitable chores that await when returning from a trip. Catch up soon, folks!

  3. Awesome photos Will (of course) – I can’t wait to see/hear all about your time in New York. And I can relate many a time to almost being run over whilst getting that perfect ‘middle of the road’ shot!

  6. Sounds like an amazing trip – very much looking forward to hearing more. Your photos make me want to get on the first plane bound for JFK…love the ray of light one.

  7. Welcome home Will. I’ve missed your blogging. Last weekend I went to Lyme Regis and found some beautiful things to photograph and buy. The colours were beautiful and the sun came out. I went to NYC about 20 years ago and spent 4 days running around sightseeing. My photos were all quite dark cos it was November and I only had a point and shoot 35mm camera but those photos and memories are the best. Don’t spend too much time doing the washing etc. Enjoy a lovely cup of tea and some yummy baked goods,
    Jo xxxx

  8. Seriously AHmazin’ pictures Will, I mean amazing:)
Happy weekend, I look forward to more NY posts.

  9. You have such a good eye for an image, these are gorgeous. I love the golden hour, although I must confess my heart lies with a slightly later time which we call the magic hour… I’m not sure if it has a real name! It’s that little period of time when the sky is violet just before dusk, when all luminous & bright colours glow and everything feels really vibrant.

Looking forward to reading more soon!

    • @Janis – I know, right! I totally lucked out because it was identical weather to when I was in the city in 2012. It makes up for all the wet weekends spent in Paris! 😉

  10. Back already, wow-you squeezed a lot into that trek! Looking forward to hearing more about your NYC adventures!
