Two Ways With Brights: Country & Industrial

After feeling inspired by the beautiful blue skies and bright spring sunshine last weekend I went on the hunt for interior design ideas to reflect the lighter, longer, brighter days. The result of my search? The new Brighton range from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection at BHS, which is packed full of colourful interior design ideas for both country and industrial spaces. The Maisey sofa and armchair give a nod to mid century design thanks for their rounded shapes and splayed legs, but are given a modern update thanks to Designers Guild upholstery. I love how they’ve paired the cobalt blue fabric with the sunshine yellow-painted brick wall – hello, Summer! If you want to work this look into a modern space you should introduce your hues in bold colour blocks, like the Brighton dining chair; place four around a gloss white dining dining table for a modern colour statement. If, however, you wish to bring the look into a country scheme you should soften the hues with pretty floral patterns. Which way do you like best?

Will – I love the yellow painted brick wall! It’s amazing. Your industrial color impressions are gorgious, too. With this cold and ugly weather your ideas, as always, brighten my mind.

I was just in BHS the other day and thought to myself that I really should visit more often, sometimes i think because its an oldie on the high street, it gets a little forgotten, but its well worth a visit. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I love that armchair. Wouldn’t it look great with a fun pouf (I’m really short, so I’m always looking for ways to prop my feet up while sitting in a chair).

I think it would be the bold colour blocks for me, they would work perfectly in my main living space.
