Until I started researching for this post I had never held Teal in a high regard. This wasn’t purposeful, rather I just felt drawn to other hues more regularly. Well, I now consider myself fully converted because this set of images shows that it’s an incredibly versatile colourway. From the insides of kitchen cupboards (1) and rustic shutters (3) to the anchor accent in a heavily patterned scheme (6) and then mixed in with a variety of other colours (7). Not bad, hey? My favourite has to be the kitchen cupboards option – simple but effective. Which is yours?

  1. I picked the paint colors for our office renovation (I am designer stuck in a job as a receptionist:| ) and at first everyone protested against the teal that I had picked…and now, everyone loves it:)

I just found your blog…love it!

  2. Whoa. That first kitchen is just great. It has that bit of color, but everything is so classic and practical without being boring.

  3. I like it best in the kitchen cabinets. I was going to paint teal on the inside of some large bookshelves but chickened out and used black instead. Teal is best in small doses for those afraid of colour.

  4. Turquoise can be lovely if used well, and in the right amount.
Though the softer shades of Aqua and sea green seem to work wonders here in Australia, I prefer the deeper and less vibrant teal for colder climates and for Winter.

Lovely images – so fitting for 2010, 'the year of turquoise'. Especially love the shutter picture.

  5. Love these! Teal is quite pretty, I actually love all shades of turquoise, etc. as they really give a a fresh a bright feel. Lovely round up of images 🙂
