Tacombi-restaurant-interior-design-mexican-nyc-11. I literally want to move into the new Tacombi location on Bleecker Street here in NYC. Wonderful colour and type, not to mention the best Tacos I’ve ever had! Click through after the jump to see my all ten of my weekend highlights and discoveries!

jack-stuppin-artist2. I went to the opening reception of Jack Stuppin’s ‘Homage to the Hudson River School’ at ACA Galleries. I was so captivated by Stuppin’s vibrant paintings – his love for impasto and use of brilliant color gives lends an almost tangible movement to each piece. I asked him what inspired him to bring so much saturated hue into his work and he told me a story that I woke still thinking about the next day. Back in 1951 he was in art class at Colombia College and painted a vase. His teacher came over to him and put a huge red cross over the top of his painting, and said to Jack, “Why try and attempt something a camera can always do better?” In that moment Jack said he felt freed to realised his creative freedom: he could paint the world in his own way and not as it appeared on film. And thank goodness he does!blue-wall-brooklyn-nyc3. This wall awash with vivid blue paint made me smile so much. A great #MakeYouSmileStyle find in Brooklyn!view-from-top-of-the-rock-nyc-at-sunset4. I still pinch myself that I live here now. I really do heart NYC! The incredible sunsets over the New York City skyline don’t hurt, either!will-taylor-bright-bazaar-nyc-fashion-blogger5. After a crazy busy work week and a nasty cold, I spent Saturday morning taking a gentle stroll around the ‘hood with a hot coffee. Loved this firehouse door I found!casper-matress-showroom6. Since moving to NYC I wanted to try out some new style mattresses before I settle on one when I finally get a bed. The last few weeks I’ve been sleeping on a Casper which has a springy, breathable latex foam over a supportive, pressure-relieving memory foam. I’ve never slept on a non-sprung mattress before, yet to my surprise I really like it! Which others should I try, folks?cynometer7. I discovered the Cyanometer, which is a 225-year-old tool for measuring the blueness of the sky. It’s all kinds of awesome and you can read more about them, here.will-taylor-bright-bazaar-nyc-fashion-blog8. The low winter sun meant my smile turned out more like a squint! These drips of mint, green and blue have inspired a new palette for me.

  7. I love the gorgeous photography in these weekly posts! The colors just make me so happy.

After always having an inner-spring mattress, we recently switched to a foam one from 4sleep. It’s the best sleep I’ve had in years! I just wish I hadn’t waiting so long to switch.

    • @Denise – Oh, I will have to check 4sleep out, thanks for the recc. And thank you for the kind words about my photography, too. I so enjoy doing this posts!

  8. I loved the Jack Stubbins painting when you shared it on Instagram but its so much clearer here. I love the vibrant colours, it reminds of doing study or art and learning about impressionism.

  9. Lovely contrast caught on camera. Never thought about such a strange thing, a Cyanometer. And it’s purpose is to measure the blueness of the sky. Glad there are people that pay attention to this. Actual world overwhelm itself.

  10. Will, it’s so fab seeing you in your new hood and I just love that story about the artist and the teacher. Amazing how much power teachers can have. M x
