After the clean line modernity and vibrant true blue interior of Wednesday’s Palette Addict post, today is all about indigo interiors inspiration. Toast have once again managed to virtually whisk me off to a space of rustic charm, calm and colour – and this season it’s an indigo accented farmhouse. I stopped in my tracks when I first saw this farmhouse bedroom because it’s almost identical to a home we shot in Spain for the Bright.Bazaar book, which also had a similar theme of introducing splashes of colour against a background of stone floors and walls, and wooden beamed ceilings. There’s just something about indigo that keeps calling me back at the moment. I think it’s because it evokes memories of sun-soaked holidays in Greece – like this one in Santorini) – where the mind is calm and relaxation is at the top of the to-do list. Oh, and there’s sunshine too! What inspires you about indigo? Would you decorate with this colour at home?

  1. I now feel the need to install shutters everywhere! Lovely to see this rustic use of blue after the last crisp use, I’m not actually sure which I prefer… I’ll do a mash up! 😉 Lovely post as always Will

  2. That window! sigh…

If I buy a cushion or a blanket do I get the farmhouse with the window too?!!

    Have a wonderful weekend ; – )

  3. I love the blanket, but the depth of blue in the basket is beautiful too. Indigo such a great colour with such a rich history. Not surprising it’s so popular – timeless yet contemporary at the same time!

  4. The indigo window is, in my opinion, the most lovely detail of the whole room and gives it its coziness. It’s amazing what a small detail like a colour of a window can do to the atmosphere of the room

  5. Love the clean boldness of the indigo painted window set against the natural rustic stone of the farmhouse wall. Even the water bottle top and slippers add their indigo touch. Love it!
