Do you remember this photo I posted on Instagram a few weeks ago? It was from my friend’s wedding and it turned out to be such a beautiful photograph that I knew I had to do something with it aside from leaving it on my Instagram feed. As I researched ideas I came across the website Free Your Photos, which is ran by Gemma from Our Workshop (which as it turns out is one of my favourite online stores!). The premise behind Free Your Photos is to encourage people to make more of their photos; in today’s world we are able to take high quality pictures relatively easily on iPhones and compact cameras but so often a picture is taken and soon forgotten. Gemma was keen to inspire people to free their photos by letting her place them in graphic, geometric designs to create a print that takes a photographic memory and turn it into a special piece of art. I knew this was the perfect for creating something unique with the photo I had taken so I sent the picture to Gemma and the print you see framed above is the result – isn’t it beautiful? I sent it to my friend this week as a surprise now that she is back from her honeymoon.
