John Lewis continue to step up their game when it comes to their homeware offering and this year’s spring/summer offering is their strongest yet. I’m focusing on two of their main trends, Botanist and Pioneer, the former being based around Britain’s collective love of gardening. Perhaps being a Brit myself means I can resonate well with this but I think many of us enjoy a few hours of green fingered activity, whether we have a kitchen garden to call our own or little balcony high above the buzz of the city below. I love the organic textures and colours of this trend: the gentle chalky blue-grey hues paired with green accents and rustic textures make the look a winning look for summer. The second trend, Pioneer, is more contemporary than it’s counterpart and is a fusion of styles from different ideas and cultures. Inspiration for the pieces has come from the sun baked deserts and landscapes of the American southwest. I think the coffee table I chose in my market picks would fit well with the colours and patterns in this trend. Which pieces are tempting you, friends?

Market Picks: 1. Teal cushion | 2. Tony ceiling pendant | 3. Coriander cushion | 4. Limonata print| 5. ecrol for John Lewis Chiltern coffee table | 6. Anna sofa | 7. Tony floor lamp

  2. I did not know there was a collective love of gardening in your country! But yes, it makes perfect sense! Lovely post, Will!

  3. Love JL and I remembered when I was in UK last time, I almost brought back a few rolls of wallpaper from JL … only I was stopped by Chris saying I was crazy.

Love the blue and grey palette and I particularly love the teal floor lamp. What a striking pop of color!
