Hurrah, we made it to Friday, folks! I’m excited because I’m headed to Stockholm to speak at Meet The Blogger and attend some design events as part of Stockholm Design Week. This will be my first visit to the city so I’m fizzing with enthusiasm to explore a new-to-me place within Scandinavia – I’ve heard it’s a super stylish and creative city. The temperatures last week were showing at minus 18 degrees but I’m relieved it’s not quite so arctic up there anymore. That said, I have a feeling that it’s still going to feel more than a touch chilly! Do you have any top tips for places I should see/shop at/visit whilst I am in town? I’d love to hear your top recommendations. In the meantime, I will leave you with this charming Stockholm loft apartment that details a pleasing pink and blue colour palette throughout. Block colour is used to accentuate features of the space, such as the alcove shelving which appears to be ‘pushed back’ due to the sudden introduction of hue against the otherwise white surrounding. Light, airy, colourful and cosy – Mr. Bazaar is sold!

The colors in this apartment are fantastic! Thanks for pointing out how they used them in the space.

Sigh. I used to have exposed beams in my old apartment and this post reminds me just how much I miss them.

The blue alcove shelves have inspired me to do something similar in my studio!!

That’s a pretty crazy colour scheme but I do love the pink rug (it’s a similar pink to my pink sofa).
Stockholm – you’re a lucky man. If I were still living in London I might have to squeeze into your suitcase. Enjoy & I look forward to seeing what you come back with

What a beautiful place!
Have a great time! Stockholm is fab! I was there when I was 16, so think both the city and I might have changed a bit..
ENJOY!

Great use of colour; I do struggle to get on with pink, but it does work here. Goes really well with the blue.

The blue is so unexpected! I love interiors that are thinking outside the box!

You’re going to love it here in Stockholm! You definitely must explore the three large department stores, NK, PUB, and Åhlens (all are full of gorgeous Swedish design.) Definitely don’t miss Design Torget either (with innovative design from small designers.) Svenskt Tenn too, duh (try their gorgeous tea!) And enjoy all of the gorgeous views of the different water ways.
Oh and don’t worry, it’s only around -1 now.

I really like the pop of pink in the bedroom. I am crazy about pink at the moment, so this room is custom-made for me.
Have fun in Stockholm!

Ah awesome, I love Stockholm. Those colours remind me of my teenage bedroom – not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing!

you and I both MR! I love the soft palette and never thought pink and blue would work so good together! Love how the color combination play off each other, and how they pop against the white walls!
fantastic architectural detail as well. Don’t you wish to have a home like this to live in and to decorate? I am SOLD too!
Have fun on your trip you Design SuperStar!
