Don’t you just love it when the weekend arrives? The knowledge of having two whole days stretched out ahead of you to indulge in creative pursuits and general relaxation always feels like pure bliss! I even find that if I have too do a little work on the weekend that it doesn’t feel so bad as I know in an hour or so I won’t feel guilty if I kick back on the sofa with the latest issue of my favourite glossy or head out to catch a movie. What plans do you have for the next few day’s, folks? I’m heading back to my mum’s for some mother and son time – I can’t wait! Remember my mum’s dresser project that I shared last year? Well, it inspired her to create a new colour scheme in the dining room so I’m looking forward to seeing how it turned out. Speaking of colourful dining tables: how fantastic is this rich and inviting dining room? The deep true blue walls are the perfect foil for the natural paleness of the wooden dining table and chairs. Meanwhile, the addition of the red pendant focuses the eye on the centre of the room and draws attention down towards the dining table and chairs making them the focal point of the space. Keeping the alcove white is a clever design move because the break in colour segments the wall into two sections, giving the illusion of more space as a result. Here’s to a weekend of leisurely breakfasts and lingering dinners for us all!
