I’m so excited to have made the final shortlist of nominees for Dulux’s Let’s Colour Awards. Dulux founded the awards as a way to recognise the array of talent using colour in the creative industries, and to my surprise, Bright.Bazaar has been shortlisted to the final three in the Contribution to Colour category. Say what?! I can’t quite believe it because I just started this blog as a one-man band from my bedroom out of a passion for colour almost four years ago, and to this day I continue in to author the blog in the very same way as I started. Although I have no expectations to actually win the award (I’m nominated alongside the very talented Dutch design duo Scholten & Baijings and fashion designer, Louise Gray), I’m incredibly honoured to have been shortlisted this far, especially as the creative director behind the awe-inspiring coloured pixel technology in the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony (big time!) was nominated in the same category.
Anyhow, to celebrate I thought I’d post some of the beautiful shots from Dulux’s Spring Summer 2013 colour trend, Collective Passion. How beautiful are these pastel and neons? The theme reminded me just how much I love a pink and orange colour combination – those two really are best pals! I especially like the idea of using small additions of colour to highlight architectural features, don’t you?
