I love, love, love these retro vacuum jugs by Stelton at Skandium. Their bird-like appearance is no coincidence given the current interior-trend for our feathery friends. According to Living etc, Danish designer Erik Magnussen spent six years pondering over the finer points of the jug’s practical and aesthetic construction. In the meantime, here are the jugs in all their glory – plus, check out the bang on trend orange…

When I discovered Brume’s website early last year I fell in love with their quirky and distinctive products in a flash. I can’t wait to get a house big enough to have an office room – I’m planning a wall of blackboard stickers that I can plaster with inspirational images and text. And how could anyone resist the puppy bounding up the stairs?! A lovely way to encourage a smile as I make my bleary-eyed way down stairs for the first coffee of the day….!

What animal will be next to fill the world of interiors? I’d like to see safari animals like lions and giraffes! In the meantime, here are some of the other bird-related home buys, including these a-m-azing wall stickers and the understated ‘Ping’ penguin by Finnish designer, Oiva Toikka.
